Adam Witkop

Adam is a seasoned data center executive with a proven track record of leading the lifecycle of hyperscale data center development and operations across global markets. As Chief Technology Officer at Crane Data Centers, Adam spearheads end-to-end project delivery - from utility interconnection and PPA negotiation to design, construction, and ongoing operations - ensuring that Crane’s facilities are efficient, sustainable, and resilient. He also leads Crane’s ESG strategy and long lead equipment procurement activities, demonstrating holistic oversight of business and technical domains.

Prior to Crane, Adam transformed Meta’s global data center portfolio, developing and scaling a first-of-its-kind retrofit and asset management program. His leadership enabled a leap from 20 MW to over 200 MW in mission-critical maintenance and retrofit projects across millions of square feet of data center space. He oversaw the technical strategy for Meta’s Full Building Retrofit program that won company-wide recognition. Adam led interconnection agreements and utility infrastructure upgrades impacting 800 MW+, and successfully expanded capacity at key campuses.

Before Meta, Adam worked in leadership roles at Shell Oil, where he managed $400M+ in critical maintenance and upgrade projects. He directed large-scale industrial shutdown events involving 1,400+ workers and 400,000+ work hours, consistently delivering on-time, under-budget results with exceptional safety records - including a zero-injury maintenance and upgrade project, a first at Shell. His engineering background includes implementing Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) programs and ensuring asset integrity in high-risk environments.

Adam holds an MBA from UC Berkeley (Haas School of Business), an MS in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech, and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State. A licensed Professional Engineer in California, he is a recognized industry leader, frequently speaking at forums like DCD and DICE on AI infrastructure, green data centers, and sustainability.
